Modification of Bitmain Antminer S9 Low Power Mode and Dual — extend the life of outdated ASIC models
ASIC miners Bitmain Antminer S9 after halving bitcoin sharply lost their relevance, because Almost all mining income began to go to pay electricity bills even at a cost of 0.03 USD per kilowatt. As a result, now you can buy such an ASIC miner for 50-60 USD along with a power supply. If you are also the owner of such devices, then do not rush to get rid of them, because you can still get from this ASIC income of 0.3 USD daily at a price of electricity 0.03 USD.
The main idea is to upgrade the ASIC miner to firmware with a lower hash rate, for example 10TH/s instead of 14TH/s. And it is not strange, but your mining income in this case will not only not decrease, but rather increase approximately 2-3 times from 0.1 USD to 0.3 USD per day. Which is comparable with the payback of ASIC for 60 USD for 200 days. Such an incident becomes possible due to the fact that with a decrease in the hash of ASIC chips, energy consumption decreases and energy efficiency increases at the same time.

13.5 Th/s — 1300W (96 watt -TH/s)
16.1 TH/s — 1350 watt (85 watt -TH/s)

In our case, we are interested in the most energy-efficient option: 71 W/TH or 10.5 TH/s at 750W. In this case, the ASIC miner will bring an additional profit of 0.3 USD (at a price of 0.03 USD per kilowatt) and the expediency of selling it at current prices also becomes not so obvious.
To achieve such performance, you must install the BIOS with the Low Power Mode function. Such a BIOS can be downloaded for example here.
You can also take the opportunity to create the so-called dual ASIC Antminer S9, because with an energy consumption of 750W on one power supply, you can immediately hang two ASICs in maximum Low Power Mode. Moreover, the current control board allows this to be done with minimal modifications. It is only necessary to solder in addition 9 resistors (4.7 kOhm 0402) and 3 connectors with 18 PINs, and the connectors in this case are optional since Cables from boards with ASIC chips can be soldered directly to the control board.
To work with Asic miner Bitmain Antminer S9 in DUAL mode, you need to install the appropriate firmware, which can simultaneously manage 6 cards at once instead of 3.

Асик майнеры Bitmain Antminer S9 после халвинга биткоин резко потеряли свою актуальность, т.к. практически весь доход от майнинга стал уходить на оплату счетов за электроэнергию даже при стоимости 0,03 USD за киловатт. Как итог сейчас можно купить такой асик майнер за 50-60 USD вместе с блоком питания. Если Вы тоже обладатель подобных устройств, то не спешите от них избавляться т.к еще можно получить от этого асика доход в 0,3 USD ежедневно при цене за электричество 0,03 USD.
Основная идея это перепрошить асик майнер на прошивку с меньшим хешрейтом, например 10TH/s вместо 14TH/s. И как это не странно, но Ваш доход от майнинга в таком случае не только не уменьшиться, а наоборот увеличиться примерно в 2-3 раза с 0,1 USD до 0,3 USD в сутки. Что сопоставимо с окупаемостью асика за 60 USD в течении 200 дней. Такой казус становится возможным из-за того, что с уменьшением хешрейта асик чипов, уменьшается энергопотребление и одновременно растет энергоэффективность.

Чтобы достичь таких показателей необходимо установить BIOS с функцией Low Power Mode. Такой BIOS можно скачать например здесь.
Так же вы можете воспользоваться возможностью создать так называемый двойной асик Antminer S9, т.к. с энергопотреблением в 750W на один блок питания можно повесить сразу два асика в режиме максимального Low Power Mode. Причем текущие платы управления позволяют это сделать с минимальными доработками. Нужно только дополнительно впаять 9 резисторов ( 4.7 кОм 0402) и 3 разъема на 18 PIN, причем разъемы в данном случае необязательны т.к. шлейфы от плат с асик чипами можно впаять в плату управления напрямую.
Для работы асик майнера Bitmain Antminer S9 в DUAL режиме нужно установить соответствующую прошивку, которая сможет одновременно управлять сразу 6 платами вместо 3-х.
